Best wedding photography 2016 –  A Pixie selection so far :)

Year 8!!

So another year passes, nearly we’ve still got a fair few nuptials and parties to record, Pixie style! Our eighth year as Pixies in the Cellar, can’t quite believe it’s been so many years of shooting some of the best weddings across the UK. This year we almost feel like we’ve travelled the world, without the jet lag! With brides and grooms from Ecuador, Australia, Austria (via Lancashire), Iran (again via Lancashire), Japan (via Blackpool!), Singapore, New Zealand, Egypt (via Shropshire), Canada (via Cheshire) and China (via Yorkshire & Lancashire). Quite a tour of the globe without leaving the shores of Britain! Already looking forward to a promise of Sri Lankan traditions of breaking the coconut in 2017!

In numbers

So far…well over 126,000 shutter count, 25014 pics delivered, 9 albums, 7591 miles travelled, 3 black tie weddings, 7 blue suit weddings, our first coptic ceremony, one cathedral wedding, nine church weddings, one theatre, two castles, one mill, six barns, one back garden and a couple of international sports stars thrown in (not that we know who’s famous and who’s not!)

We’ve made it into a few  of the top 100 wedding photographers in the UK lists. :) Listed 12th in Hen Heaven’s low down and in at number 26 with Your Perfect Wedding Photographer. On the international front we made it into Fearless photographers best of 2016 so far, just, as one of only four UK photographers from a huge worldwide field of top wedding photographers. Not a bad year and still plenty of amazing weddings lined up before we sit down with crackers in hand, sprouts on the table, wine to sup and a cosy fire :)

So that’s our year in numbers, but it’s more about the pics. Turn up the volume and start with our impressions of 2016 clip then grab a brew or something stronger have a good mooch through some of our favourites from 2016, not so much a ‘best of’ as a snippet into our world of weddings.

Over this year we’ve worked with some great venues including; Eclectic Hotels, Browsholme Hall, James’ Places, Hyde Bank Farm, The Saddleworth Hotel, The West Mill and Hargate Hall and not forgetting all the other amazing suppliers who make all our weddings so amazing too including; Flossy and Leigh, The Flower Lounge, Michael Mullholland, Kelly Louise Floral Artistry, Harry Jon, and so many more that we’d go on for ever if we listed everyone here, but we do love working alongside each and every wedding professional we cross paths with :) See you all later this year or into 2017!
