So ever since this Cheshire wedding venue hit the scene we’d been looking forward to a bit of Owen House Wedding Barn photography, Pixie style of course! So when the daughter of my old boss (as in previous not age ;)) from Manchester University biochemistry days contacted us to shoot their wedding then we said yes. Then we found out it was Owen House wedding barn too, so double yes!

European twist to a Cheshire wedding

Sarah & Jan were both Lancashire born and bred but had met whilst teaching at an international school in Salzburg, Austria. Jan’s name did confuse a lot of people though as you (and we) expect Jan to be of Austrian descent but it’s Jan like Jam not like Yan! Even though it was a truly English wedding the Austrian theme did play a big part in the day, with a strong ski-ing theme to the tables and the odd bit of Austrian here and there.

Great Cheshire weather for congrats on the patio

These two both scrubbed up well, with Sarah looking quite the resplendent bride in her lace detailed dress alongside the schlank (good German word, I like it!!) figure of Jan. A personalised ceremony with a few laughs and the odd tear, nothing like a wedding to bring out those emotions ;) and now they were Mr & Mrs. Time for Pimms, beers and some scrumptious looking chunky canapés too.

Rustic & countryside combo for bride and groom piccies

It’s almost obligatory at Owen House Wedding Barn to capture the bridal party mucking about on the stack of hay bales, would be rude not to! After a few minutes with the wonky doors and rustic props we went for a wander across the farm fields to make the most of this one of the best summer days so far this year.

Huge congrats to Sarah & Jan, a couple just made for each other and thanks for our first experience of Owen House Wedding Barn photography, we’ll be back – we hope!
