A wedding ceremony in the drawing room at Browsholme Hall – the perfect setting for this intimate family wedding.

With a ten percent chance of rain, we thought we were safe in our corner of Lancashire for the day, how wrong we were! Admiring the high cloud on our way to Northcote for bridal prep we were lulled into a false sense of security thinking of a dry wedding day ahead! So that lucky rain fell, but no-one let it spoil the day, Jennifer and Ross were happy to stroll through the gorgeous gardens at Browsholme umbrella in hand, whilst we captured some photographs that definitely told the story of the day :)

Northcote wedding preparations

The day began at Northcote, near Blackburn, a great place to stay and eat, Jenny and her sister were joined by Flossy and Leigh, the morning was filled with much laughter, giggles and very chilled out indeed :) We’d be back at Northcote later for food and conviviality, the perfect spot for a smaller wedding celebration.

Browsholme Hall wedding photography, in the summer rain

At Browsholme Hall the family were arriving for this intimate wedding of close family and friends. Jenny arrived in style by vintage Rolls Royce, which perfectly complimented the vintage feel to her gorgeous dress, with amazing beaded detail to the back. With the ceremony being conducted by a family friend added to the cosy intimate feel of the day. Whilst reception drinks and canapes flowed in the entrance hall, we were formulating our wet weather plan as the rain just got heavier :/ Group shots were an almost royal affair in the drawing room adorned with old paintings, although we enticed the boys out on the lawn with umbrellas :)

Heading south across the Ribble Valley

Browsholme Hall has gorgeous grounds just perfect for wedding photography, Jenny and Ross were brilliant and ‘enjoyed’ their time in the rain as new Mr and Mrs, before we all headed back to Blackburn and Northcote Hotel for a celebratory meal, with the worlds smallest wedding cake (a slight mix up with centimetres and inches!!) A brilliant Browsholme Hall wedding, albeit a little too much of the ‘Lancashire sunshine’ with a honeymoon tasting the delights of Italy then these two should get at least some of the drier and warmer form of sun :)
