Lancashire lass and Ozzie bloke meet in Vegas, the rest is history!

When we met Helen & Nick in Lancaster earlier in the year, we knew their wedding was going be loads of fun and great for photography too with two epic venues to shoot at :) It lived up to expectations and more :)

Early morning wedding nerves.

Early doors Peter dropped me off at Lancaster House Hotel, as Nick was keen to have his preparations photographed, making sure the girls didn’t get all the attention! The morning saw Nick downing the Bourbons (whisky not the chocolate biscuits!) a bid to calm his nerves, and to wash away the odd tear brought on by the great video his Aussie mates had made of friends back home who couldn’t make their wedding day :) Meanwhile Peter was with Helen the girls who were making the most of their morning at her parents house, with a lot of laughs and whilst also sorting a bridesmaid dress failure :/

Lancaster wedding ceremony at the ‘Taj Mahal of the North’

Ashton Memorial is a unique venue right in the middle of Williamson Park perched above Lancaster with amazing views out towards the mountains of the Lakes and Morcambe Bay, it’s quite stunning architecture inside and out. The ceremony started with a tear or two from Nick, Helen just had to laugh at him or I think she would have gone too, and ended with a charismatic exit down the aisle and through a storm of confetti!

With a few minutes set aside for photos at the memorial we lapped up the epic architecture before moving north to Leighton Hall. A small trauma as I was chased by very curious cows whilst capturing the classic Rolls Royce arrival of bride and groom. :/ Brush with death over, the day continued with Australian flag flying on the towers of this Lancashire country estate. Fun filled group photos and a short walk around the gorgeous woodland of Leighton Hall, perfect for a more countryside look to compliment the clean architectural lines of Ashton Memorial, then it was time for food. In to the night the partying with band in full swing, groovy moves on the dance floor and even a whiskey station for those late night tipples.
