We have a soft spot for an Arley Hall Wedding, we first photographed a wedding here over six years ago, for our first professional full time ‘Pixies in the Cellar’ wedding photography job – very happy to be back again :)
Vicky and Lee, just loved Arley Hall and had to get married there and no where else! – well actually I don’t think Lee got much choice in the matter – so an Arley hall wedding it was ;) We reacquainted ourselves with the hall and its amazing gardens, then sprung into action capturing the excitement of the day ahead and all the anticipation of bridal prep. It was great to see Fletcher and Foley again, twice in one week, but with such stunning flowers we’d happily bump into them and their flowers more often!
Tattoo wedding favours
Vicky and Lee are both tattoo fans, even having temporary tattoo’s as their wedding favours and even more so Vicky having a real tattoo on her arm finished in time for their wedding day, which featured in the photos of course. The tattoo theme was also evident in the cake and name cards, it all worked well alongside the more rustic subtle lace and lavender – you’d never have put the two together, but it worked!
Wedding ceremony outside or in, to be decided by the great British summer weather….
Initially the ceremony was planned for the outdoor setting sounded by the colourful herbaceous border, but an English August day was feeling a little more November in its temperature – so with little compromise the grand indoor ceremony room was used. The forecast rain held off and we were able to make the most of the fabulous gardens, for some great photography with a little added Tim Burton twist, as was Vicky’s predilection :)
A bit of swing to get the party moving
The evening finished in style with Dominic Halpin and the Honey B’s, a truly fantastic Manchester based band, who could make any party go with a swing – fitting particularly well with the rockabilly 1950’s style bridesmaid dresses. We really really love wedding photography at Arley Hall, there’s just soooo many great opportunities and it’s just a fabulous venue, so if you’re thinking of tying the knot in grandeur drop us a line :)
