A Haigh Hall Winter Wedding – December 2012.
Julia and Andrew contacted me with a request to shoot their wedding within four weeks of their wedding day, it all added to the eclectic fun of Christmas week though :)
Julia and her bridesmaids got ready at Ashfield House, a great venue in itself, where we could take advantage of the grand sweeping staircase. Jullia and Andrews’ wedding took place at St Bartholomew’s in Westhoughton followed by their reception at Haigh Hall in Wigan. The church is very traditional on the outside but new and incredibly impressive on the inside, very bright and airy, perfect for photography. Haigh Hall is an impressive classical styled, Victorian stately home with it’s stone entrance columns, high ceilings and impressive central staircase all making for some great photo opportunities.
Julia’s family are from one of the most beautiful but isolated parts of the world… Christmas Island, right in the middle of the Pacific, this gave the whole day a very international and exotic feel culminating in a traditional head-piece ceremony during their first dance.
Jump forward to summer and 2014, with our next visit to a much sunnier Wigan, on the blog here!
