Thornton Manor wedding photography – an outdoor ceremony and music room reception.
Wall to wall sunshine maybe summer had arrived again! Mel & Rob had cashed in on their luck and the outdoor wedding ceremony dream was to become a reality. Maybe the French wedding guests had brought the weather (and style!) with them.
A bit of a longer wedding blog this time, so take your time and absorb this amazing Cheshire wedding day from start to finish.
Thornton Manor – a Cheshire wedding escape for a cool city centre couple.
We can’t quite believe it but in twelve years of wedding photography this is our first visit to Thornton Manor! What a way to start though, stunning weather, chilled out Manchester couple and an epic party.
We met Mel & Rob a few weeks before in their gorgeous Manchester city centre flat, Pete decide to arrive by longboard channelling his inner cool 70’s dude vibe, whilst well I got the train! No car travel, perfect excuse for a night out too ;) After having met these guys we knew it’d be a fab day as they were so relaxed and had lots of personal touches to make the day their own, mostly including musical relatives.
Aisles of trees, garden games & did we say music
As we arrived Rob and his boys were loading speakers and guitars in to the car, followed by a quick guitar practice during groom prep. Whilst the girls enjoyed their smoked salmon breakfast and put on their glad rags. Meanwhile Rob folded to perfection what seemed like millions of pocket square for all the groomsmen that come with a big family. Then for the trees! Rob arrived from East Lodge down one aisle of trees, whilst Mel made her entrance down another aisle off trees, accompanied by the vocals of her brother, the scene was set for a wedding. Glasses kerchinging, hugs flowing and more music this time from Rob’s dad and uncle on guitar and vocals – as Mel put it, it was a bit of a von Trapp wedding!
Spring sunshine to party moves
Time just sped it’s merry way, more so than usual it felt – the day was just whizzing by. From Mel showing off her dress pockets, a simply breath taking operatic start to the wedding breakfast (cue Mel’s brother again!), a trio of best men, including the speeches all in sign language too (very impressive from Rob’s brother) to the evening celebrations with yes you’ve guessed it the family band – Rob’s brothers, joined by Rob for a few numbers and by Mel’s dad too. When you’ve got family as talented as this then you really don’t need anyone else! Good job they didn’t have any photographers in the family ;)
