Colourful wedding – a rustic relaxed day at Hargate Hall
Rachel & Simon were Peak District locals they just lived a short drive away in Tideswell and found their perfect wedding venue right on the doorstep, one of our faves – Hargate Hall :) Back for our third visit this year and again joined by Tabby from Mode for Events to help their colourful wedding day run smoothly along with the boys from Sons of the North to satisfy everyones hunger pangs :)
Hair, dresses, flowers, ties, socks and words to say “I do”
As ever the morning at Hargate Hall was a mixture of the slowly waking up the morning after Friday night get togethers with friends and a drink or two or three… as well as running around to add those finishing touches. Rachel and Simon’s children were main players in the day. All helping out and making up a good chunk of the bridal party too! Rachel’s mum and auntie were busy tying rustic daisy and gypsophilia bouquets with colourful ribbons and flowers to fill every corner. Right on time, down the grand staircase Rachel and her crew of girls met Simon at the end of the aisle, the rest as they say is history (well it is now!) With tears from Rachel’s sister just making it through her reading. Then a group effort from all their children for the second reading it was definitely a heartfelt ceremony.
Jam jars, Pimms, G&T and congrats to follow
The first Saturday in September, the sun was shining on Hargate Hall, time for drinks in multicoloured jam jars and nibbles on the patio for this colourful wedding. Rachel’s a life long Tideswell resident with many friends in Tideswell Brass Band who had volunteered their lungs for some musical entertainment and an excuse for a dance too. Just time to sneak off around the grounds of Hargate with Rachel and Simon for a few photos (and a for Sara to hug a nettle too (not recommended – all in the name of a good photo though!))
Colourful wedding marquee greatness
Amazing ribbon candelabras adorned the Hargate Hall marquee, along with hundreds of colourful glass bottles. After some delicious food, words of wisdom, love and laughter then it was time for ‘Mr & Mrs’ (or Mr & Mr or Mrs & Mrs ;) )….but not your usual ‘Mr & Mrs’ this was ‘Mr & Mrs’ knockout so the whole marquee had their shoes in the air to find the most ‘in tune’ couple! Into the evening Ant MacAndrew entertained and sung/played his heart out absolutely amazing from just one man – check this guy out! And with wood burning pizza to fill those hunger urges everyone was in for a fantastic end to a fantastic relaxed Peak District wedding day :)
