Manchester Town Hall & King Street Townhouse wedding – City Centre winter wedding
Lisa & Thomas were lovers of Manchester so where better for their nuptials than in the heart of the city centre for this winter wedding. Our first explore for King Street Townhouse wedding photography too, what a fantastic location to pair with the town hall, than a venue with epic view of the town hall itself :)
Manchester preparations for the big day
The day began with calmness and serenity at King Street Townhouse where Lisa and her bridesmaid were getting ready. Whilst on the other side of town (well just in Salford actually) the boys were out in force with Thomas’s seven groomsmen congregating, some even in matching pyjamas at their city centre apartment, with equally good views over the city centre. Girls with fizz, hair and make-up meanwhile the boys had, fizz, plus brandy, plus another brown spirit (I’m no aficiando of the hard stuff!) and a co-ordinated scarf tying! Followed by dancing around the apartment before heading across town with a few photo opportunities enroute.
A wedding ceremony and a history lesson
Lisa arrived in plenty of time, that was until the nerves set in and a toilet stop was needed before that short walk down the aisle! Well it was a good job that Lisa took the opportunity as they had the pleasure of one of Manchester’s more colourful registrars who gave great theatrical delight in bestowing all of the Town Hall’s history upon everyone there :) So vows made, first kiss, kissed and the deed had been done – yeah! Time for fizz n nibbles and to absorb all the history that we’d all just learnt about. Lisa & Thomas got to enjoy even more of the town hall with our wander around the corridors. Guests made their way just five minutes across the road to King Street Town House, quite curiously not on King Street! We just left the town hall at the perfect moment as the crowd of anti-Trump supporters moved across town on the Women’s March.
A perfect view for a Town Hall Wedding
Arriving at King Street Town House to a packed balcony (I guess it’s called a terrace – sounds better!) with smiley guests winter Pimms in hand and quite toasty underneath the heaters too. The view from this one of Manchester’s newest boutique hotels is amazing and all the better as it looks over the Town Hall so very apt for this two location wedding day. A quick pit stop on the roof then it was time for food and speeches.
City lights – winter wedding photography
Lisa & Thom loved the idea of night time city lights cosy feel. So for a quick breather after the food we nipped out just downstairs to make the most of anything that sparkled. Then it was time for anything that boogied…well nearly time after a slight technical hitch, the music finally began for the first dance to kick off the nights proceedings! Followed by a Beatles tribute band and a first set finale of Thomas’ musical prowess with ‘Born in the USSR’ – not just your drunken Karaoke, Thomas was actually a singer in a band :)
A great personalised, historical, political and very Manchester feeling wedding for these two city lovers.
