Bellefields Farm wedding photography – Rustic tipi reception and Manchester Town Hall fusion wedding ceremony.
Wowzers what a day and what a couple!
Sasha & Vincent met at Manchester University and have since travelled all corners of the globe, helping others, experiencing some crazy things and no doubt a fair bit of dancing in the mix too. We first met these guys over Skype as they were living and working in Malaysia at the time. Their plans for the day sounded amazing a fusion of Sasha’s Sri-Lankan roots and Vincent’s Manchester background. The amazing Manchester Town Hall was booked for the ceremony but the rest of the details were yet to be decided….Oh and the coconut was definitely to be included!
A rainy start, perfectly apt for a Manchester summer wedding.
With heavy rain in the morning this day certainly was showing it’s Mancunian side. The boys donned their garb at home in Glossop then off to Tom’s Chop House for a bite to eat and a pint or two. Meanwhile the girls had hired a funky airbnb in Didsbury for their morning preparations and no doubt the odd glass of fizz.
The boys had jobs to do before this fusion ceremony could take place. Not often you have to put soil into a golden chalice but today was one of those days and all the better for it :) With guests from all over the world arriving the wedding was well on it’s way.
Sri-Mancunian wedding fusion ceremony in the Great Hall
The stage was set and what a setting the Great Hall was for this personalised wedding ceremony. With these two having officially tied the knot in Malaysia it was free reign for their own special ceremony. Sasha and the girls arrived in style by camper van, dad finally got his tie. It was time to get the days proceedings underway – with just a little nerves. Sasha walked in to the tones of Vincent on his recording of Moon River, sung and recorded especially for the occasion.
Then betel leaves were thrown, fingers tied, soil mixed, oil lamps lit, the coconut split, a poem, some rings exchanged, the kiss and then some skipping out of the hall – deed done! Sasha and Vincent hadn’t seen so many of their guests for ages as they’d been in different corners of the world, so really enjoyed the time to say hi to old (not in years!) faces whilst nibbles were quaffed and drinks sipped.
Bellefields Farm Tipi and glamping wedding reception
So after a vintage bus journey from Manchester to Warrington, the next leg of the journey was to be by tractor trailer (or by foot for the boys.) :) Over the fields of corn and into a secluded corner of the farm for the reveal of all that was tipi and glamping heaven :) The tipi was filled with rustic colourful flowers and millions of photos of this couples amazing adventures together so far. Welcome cocktails from jam jars, Kilner jars full of more delicious delights and a bath full of beer, there was no going thirsty tonight. A late ceremony meant it was already time for yummy Sri-Lankan curries and Sasha’s beloved hoppers, a sort of pancake shaped into a bowl complete with fried egg. Time to get down and party and did these guys know how to party!
So we left the party and awesome playlist playing out to the fields and woods over Bellefields Farm – wished we were camping out in the array of bell tents too! Huge congrats to Sasha and Vincent – here’s to more travelling and tales to tell.
