A very Manchester wedding – Halle St.Peter’s, Ancoats & Chethams wedding photography
Jane & Rik were ‘mad fer it’ and loved all that was Manchester, as well as each other! So their wedding had to be in Manchester and they’d combined two of the best killer venues that had been on our photography wish list for a few years :) We loved this wedding and snapping away in the über cool up and coming Ancoats New Islington area in the evening combined with Chethams wedding photography – gorgeous moody light and that old library!
Bacon butties at dawn (well nearly, this was an early start!)
The girls did their thing at the family home in Stockport, with close friend Ros and their daughter Jess helping out and keeping everyone in good spirits. Jess entertained us all with her research on the origins of bacon! A self confessed bacon fiend, the wedding day seemed the right time to discover where bacon originated! So bacon aside all went to plan, with dad and the flowers all arriving in plenty of time. Jane looked amazing in her tea-length dress, the prefect choice for this cool Manchester wedding.
Chethams School of Music
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the modern city lies Chethams a medieval building filled with history and epic light! Rik and the boys were suitable suited and booted in their tweed suits, with matching flat caps. With an early ceremony not much time to calm the nerves before the guests began to arrive and the ceremony was in full swing and that was that, vows exchanged and papers signed these two were now wed! The Manchester weather had been kind and everyone could enjoy fizz on the lawn as well as being able to wander through the corridors to the 15th century library bestowed with many a historic tale. These two loved the building (especially Rik!) so were keen for some ‘Pixie’ pics to take in the amazing spaces.
Ont’ bus for some scran
All the guests were ferried by vintage bus to the very up and coming Ancoats New Islington Area of Manchester in the converted church venue of Hallé St. Peter’s, time for lunch – what else but pie for this Manchester wedding! Contented and full guests, speeches over and now everyone could relax and enjoy the party in this amazing building, with some amazing light coming through the gorgeous stained glass. Into the night we left the party in full swing with two epic DJ’s to cover the night, along with photobooth chaos and fish & chips to finish the festivities – a perfectly planned Manchester wedding to remember.

Considering a city centre wedding these historic wedding venues amidst manchester ever growing skyline of new buildings are the perfect back drop for your day. These hidden gems of Manchester tell their own story alongside your story of the day and even Manchester locals may not have ventured into these amazing buildings before. Chethams Library certainly has history, with it’s building dating from 1421, you’ll be hard pushed to find anywhere much older! And for those bookworms out there what better place to tie the knot than the oldest public library in Britain, with a medieval atmosphere to match it’s credentials. For us, it’s the perfect moody lighting, great dark corners with slithers of gorgeous light just peaking through, just waiting for moments to happen to complete the picture.
You just can’t beat an amazing confetti shot. Fabulous photos.
