Manchester Town Hall & On the 7th wedding photography
An old favourite and a new venue combined in this Manchester Salford combo wedding for bonfire night. Manchester Town Hall on everyone’s list of the best venues in Manchester you just can’t compete with that architecture. Then to the other extreme with modernity and city lights at On the 7th in MediaCityUK. Glimmering lights of Salford Quays, all glass and modern lines, for our first On the 7th wedding photography jaunt.
European
Laura and Peter had met in France during a summer camp whilst on their university summer breaks, with Laura utilising her multiple linguistic skills, although not Dutch! Fortunately the Dutch are very good at English so Laura and Peter’s attraction blossomed. Now twelve years later, enough time to make sure they definitely were the ones for each other, here we were wedding vows being exchanged. Some of the English customs were a little foreign to the Dutch contingent but that’s what makes it all the more fun. We love multiple country weddings it’s much more fun to share all these traditions around.

So having made the short journey from Salford Quays to Manchester Laura arrived via Cooper street entrance. With the front of the town hall out of bounds as Father Christmas (aka Zippy to all that have seen him!) and the Christmas markets were being constructed. Surrounded by family and friends Laura and Peter exchanged their vows and that was that Mr & Mrs! After congrats and a few family photos we had just a few mins to take in the amazing interiors at the town hall, whilst their guests entertained themselves very ably with fizz on the big red classic Routemaster double decker bus.
On the 7th
Back at Salford Quays there was just time for a very windy confetti moment as everyone got off the bus and dashed in to On the 7th to get warm. Sensibly everyone got the lift but we took the stairs, bad move, it’s a lot of stairs!!!! So having recovered from our sudden burst of exercise we milled around as everyone enjoyed canapés, beers, fizz comfy chairs, a great colouring and TV snug for the kids (and big kids too!) Just before the sun went down we nipped out for a few mins to juxta the old from the town hall with the new of MediaCity, as Laura & Peter wanted to make the most of all locations . We almost managed a little bit of pre-sunset too. This November wedding seemed to have more sunshine than most of our summer weddings this year!
Into the evening the chequered floored pantry room was the perfect boogie room with the band really keeping the party going. Being so close to so many hotels On the 7th is in a great spot so no-one has to travel far to get back to their beds, more time to party and make the most of an amazing wedding day!
Hartelijk gefeliciteerd met jullie huwelijk Laura & Peter :)

Very diversified set of photos. I like it – you won’t get bored looking at them after years – some poetry (U made Salford look really nice) as well as partying and energy with nice details caught – good job, definitely!
Thanks Natalia & Wojtek :)
Ok so the bear grabbed my attention! But what an amazing set of photographs – my fave has to be that beautiful shadow on the wall. They must be so excited to receive these!
Cheers Rich – It was a great wedding to shoot. Always interesting to hear other peoples fave pics too :)
This is the sweetest wedding!
Cheers Stephanie – they were a great couple, lots of life and love :)
I love how the city lights mingle with the party scenes. Creates true magic.
