New House Farm wedding photography in the gorgeous Lake District countryside.
For Sam & Greg a Lake District wedding was a great choice, with loads of space for kids and dogs to run around alongside stunning scenery for everyone to enjoy. This was our first visit for New House Farm wedding photography, so we’d popped up to the Lakes a couple of weeks before to make sure we knew the lay of the land so to speak! During our recce the weather was great, so we were hoping we’d not used up our luck for the wedding day – although it did snow on the way back home!
Spring finally arrives just in time
So luck was on their side and the weather had turned up the volume, in fact it seemed to have by passed spring temperatures and gone straight to summer! We arrived at New house Farm to find Greg and the boys already suited and booted. Very eager, in fact I think more nervous, to get the day started! In the girls camp all was more chilled out and the flowergirls enjoyed playing in the stream in between getting ready.
Pimms, fizz and a Harley
A short ceremony in the beautiful Lake District barn setting and confetti aisle exit, all the wedding nerves now dwindling, everyone could chill out and enjoy the sunshine. A few shots with Greg’s pride and joy, his Harley Davison in prime position on the lawn. We took a quick walk in the grounds of New House Farm with the newly weds, then it was time for outdoor speeches. We love outdoor wedding speeches, after all how often is the weather that good in the UK, especially the Lakes – make the most of it enjoy the outdoors!
To Crummock Water
Whilst guests were checking in at local hotels and chilling out after a gorgeous meal, we nipped up the road to Crummock Water. Sam and Greg were keen to have a few photographs which showed off the Lake District scenery, and you do know how we love a big landscape! A two minute walk and we had one of the best vantage points over the Lake, well done to Sam for the climb in her wedding dress, especially as she was fourteen weeks pregnant too!!!
Back at New House Farm Sam & Greg’s choice of first dance song certainly paid off! Bring me sunshine sung by Ashleigh Wood, was certainly apt for the day and kicked off the evening party with style.
Huge congrats to Sam and Greg and good luck with the imminent new addition to the family, to go with the dog, two cats and snake!
