Manchester’s best venues and Manchester weather for this September wedding
Liana & Rob had chosen some great venues to celebrate their joining of lives. The fact we love Manchester Town Hall is no secret and coupled with the quirky cool interiors of Great John Street this was Manchester city centre wedding photography which we were definitely looking forward to!
At GJS, the girls and Liana’s mum were in full swing in the capable hands of Flossy & Leigh. Meanwhile down stairs the boys needed the very capable bow tie tying hands of Rob’s mum to finish off their black tie look. The day was to have an urban chic black tie theme with all the male guests also donning bow ties and all the usual glamour for the girls.
Manchester weather and a quick pint
Part of the master plan was a casual saunter through the Manchester city streets between venues – the boys still managed it but under multiple brollies, hastily purchased earlier in the day. After a walk in the rain time to dry off in yet another cool venue, at Albert Square Chop House, fab interiors, with walls adorned in images of the cool and creative of Manchester and the north.
Travel in style
There’s no other way than to travel to a city wedding than by cab – Liana had arranged a special white cab befitting of the occasion. Liana & Rob’s ceremony was just perfect complemented by the amazing singing and piano playing of one of Liana’s bridesmaids – more than your usual bridesmaid tasks. Manchester Town Hall was great for Manchester weather, with such stunning interiors who needs the outside – certainly not the weather for the Spanish festival that was taking place outside!
Great John Street wedding reception
Arrival drinks were to incorporate Liana’s Blackpool heritage with candy floss topping all the glasses of fizz – Rob’s geographical wink coming later with Kendal Mint Cake to accompany the coffees :) Liana had also made the real cake and the fake cake which looked fab just for cutting and pics, Liana loves making cakes but a tiered cake for her wedding and getting married was just a little too much stress for one day!
Into the evening the rain did subside for a little while enough to go out and about just close to the hotel – Rob had wanted to head over to Castlefield but the weather just wasn’t playing ball today.
Congrats to Liana & Rob on a fantastic personalised Manchester city centre wedding in the rain!
