A cool January day for a winter wedding at The Deanwater Hotel, Woodford.
We were already quite familiar with Laura as she was the bridesmaid at Liz and Stephen’s rather hot and sunny wedding at the Lakes. Laura and Emmet’s wedding, on the 3rd of January would have a somewhat different feel!
The boys arrived with High Style cars, aptly named I’d say to match their rather dapper suits with peacock feather inside trims. With the church full to brimming it was just for the bride to arrive, along with the bridesmaids in rich green dresses, quite unusual but a great colour. Laura looked stunning, very art deco style with a gorgeous beaded detailed dress with bird cage veil – along with the necessary furry coat, very cosy and classy.
The ceremony was a full catholic service with the priest at least ten years younger than the bride and groom (you know you’re getting old when this happens)!
The minute we left the church the heavens opened, so everyone made a dash for the vintage bus whilst we grabbed a few shots inside the church with its fab colourful stained glass and mysterious, rustic hidden staircase. Back at the Deanwater the guests enjoyed the warmth and their drinks whilst we snook onto the bus for a few cheeky ‘back of the bus’ shots! Dodging the showers we managed to make the most of the daylight, before it was time for the wedding breakfast in the wintry-feel Balmoral suite, again very classy with candelabras and simple grey sashes to decorate the room.
We captured some intimate and dynamic (albeit rainy) evening portraits under the terrace with extra lighting to add a little ‘glitz’… which looked great with Laura’s art deco dress detailing and matching brolly :)
A rather smelly ‘cheese cake’ preceded their excellent live band first dance!
Congrats Laura and Emmet :)
