So Laura & Paul’s day was to be little different, in a good way :) Our second trip from Manchester to Lancaster this time for an autumnal elopement.

Intimate atmospheric Ashton Memorial wedding ceremony – UK elopement photography

They’d chosen to keep their ceremony a private affair saying their intimate wedding vows to each other in the splendour of Ashton Memorial, with just us and their witnesses as onlookers. It was especially poignant for their witnesses as co-ordinators for ceremonies in this amazing building it was the last wedding here for six months as building and renovation work would begin on Monday. The ceremony was perfect with a co-ordinated entrance down the grand stairs and music filling this acoustic chamber for a great atmosphere.

Time for pictures, lots of them!

Well we normally have thirty to forty-five mins for shots of our wedding couples, today we had a few hours! Laura & Paul were keen to take in their surroundings a favourite spot for them and where Paul had proposed too! So we set off out into the cold, we had set of from Manchester in the snow, so Lancaster was relatively warm and calm compared! Williamson Park was just about holding on to its’ autumnal colours, which is the season that these guys love the most.

Pavilion Cafe for drinks, warmth and congrats

Having trekked back to the memorial it was time for a warm and to meet their immediate families in the Pavilion cafe. The warm drinks were definitely appreciated on this damp mid-November day. With families keen to get a few ‘mantelpiece’ shots we headed back over to the memorial. There was even fake snow for confetti, very seasonal :)

Interesting drive through the Trough of Bowland

Time to head off to Browsholme’s Tithe barn for their wedding party….so the most direct route apparently took us over the Trough Brook Road, which it turns out if you were local then perhaps wouldn’t have entertained it at zero degrees with snow and slush to add to the mix! So a slow and steady trek over hill and dale, we survived and so did Laura and Paul following behind and we all made it in one piece to the Tithe barn. The rest of the evening saw family and friends join the party for delicious bowl food, sparklers and dance floor moves :)
