A Lancashire wedding to end a month of new beginnings

We met Laura and Paul just a week before their wedding, as motorway queues had conspired against us on our first attempt to meet – got to love the M60!! Anyway traffic aside these guys were very organised not only had they planned a wedding but also just moved house. We couldn’t believe they’d just moved in, their new house was made for them it looked as if they’d lived there forever! So it was great to capture bridal prep in their new abode, new chapters of their lives on all fronts.

We were very happy to be back at St.Helen’s church in Waddington for Laura and Pauls ceremony, gorgeous church, a few handy pubs in the village for your guests to enjoy pre-ceremony and one of the best vicars we’ve met too. Guests and groom safely inside the church, we waited at the lychgate for Laura and her entourage whilst the vicar checked the all important cricket scores on his phone ;) So a few legally binding words, choice readings and a bit of a sing song later and these two were officially wed – back out through the bell tower into the July sunshine, job done!

Tithe Barn wedding reception

The logical progression from St. Helens is on to Browsholme Hall and its’ rustic tithe barn, where the outdoor courtyard came into it’s own in this fabulous summer sun. The ice cream cart certainly was a roaring success and much appreciated on our hottest wedding of the year so far. So all was looking so summery, nosh, enunciation, laughter, and some plonk later we took a wander out into the amazing grounds of Browsholme Hall – then summer took a pause! It seemed our slot for piccies was the weathers slot for a little of the wet stuff, well not one to stop a bit of water stop us we grabbed the brollies and headed out! This is Lancashire after all!

So rain gone and we were back inside! Time to party, eat burgers and toast marshmallows, a great end to a fantastic wedding day in mostly sunny Lancashire.
