Mythe Barn wedding photography, our second spring wedding at this Warwickshire barn wedding venue.
So four days shy of exactly two years since our first trip for some Mythe Barn wedding photography we were back here again :) Not only was it two years almost to the day but there were more parallels – Nichola the bride being a new PhD graduate whereas our last groom here (David) was in the final year of his PhD, both in life sciences research too! We were happy to be back at this great modern barn venue which is right on the borders of Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire, in the brilliantly named borough of Sheepy Magna (just coz I love sheep • Sara!)
Spring weather, you just never know!
So we’d had our eye on the forecast during the week. I’m sure every bride and groom does this too, first it was sun, then rain, then cloud, then snow – a typical British forecast! On the day well they were right it had a bit of absolutely everything! This was a chilly April wedding day complete with April showers of snow, hail and rain.
Spring wedding flowers
When we arrived the wedding ceremony room was adorned with hundreds of gorgeous natural Spring flowers. So it was no surprise when we found out the Joanne from Fletcher & Foley in Manchester had been their florist :) There was definitely a strong Manchester contingent to this Midlands wedding, mostly I think because Joe and his family hailed from Manchester themselves. Along with the natural feel of the Spring flowers the other theme for the wedding was Nichola & Joe’s love of dinosaurs. So sneaking behind a sweet pea or Ranunculus would emerge the head of a diplodocus or even a T-rex and unusual combo but executed perfectly thanks to amazing art work by Joes uncle!
Sunshine and Pimms
Ceremony and legal bits done and dusted. Time for congratulations for the new Mr & Mrs. Pimms flowed and the sun emerged in time for some photos, perfect timing :) Nichola and Joe were great, especially Nichola who was always happy and looked stunning in her beaded almost 1930’s style wedding dress, despite it being close to freezing! Back at Mythe Barn, everyone enjoyed a gorgeous wedding breakfast feast (We had some too so can verify the food was the best ;)
Wedding pizza!
The partying began with Nichola and Joe’s first dance, followed by some pretty epic dancing by Nichola’s bridesmaid who definitely enjoyed the dance floor! The rest of the guests need a little more lubricating and the night to draw in slightly before they would strut their stuff. No matter though as everyone was more than happy with the choice of evening food, of freshly made woodfired pizzas – yummy! So we definitely enjoyed our second adventure down to the Midlands for some Mythe Barn wedding photography. Do have a nosey through our snapshot of the day to see what we got up to :)
Congrats Nichola & Joe on a fantastic Mythe Barn wedding day xx
