A slightly alternative feel for this Didsbury House Hotel Wedding.

We met Sam & Alex just a few week before the big day to talk about their Didsbury House Hotel wedding photography, they’d just landed back in the UK a couple of days before from their currently adopted home of Melbourne. From talking with these guys the day seemed like it was our kind of wedding relaxed and laid back, with pretty much no formalities!

Ultimate groom prep house!

The morning began with me (Sara) following the boys at the best mans house and mainly in the back garden pub! What a space, pool table, darts, juke box you name it it was their completing the local pub feel. A few nervous rounds of pool, calmed by the champagne – not sure I should have been stood so close to the dart board after the bubbles had been supped!

Sam had limited her bridal party entourage (all eight of her bridesmaids!) to just her sister and close friend who doubled as hairdresser – good thing as when all eight of them were there it was quite cosy! A gorgeous grecian style wedding dress was Sam’s choice and suited her perfectly along with sunflower bouquet as a flower that meant something to the two of them.

Surprise wedding ceremony celebrant

Unbeknown to all their guests (except us Pixies and their parents) these two had officially tied the knot in Australia, because of all the residency rules etc…So todays ceremony was to be extra special and personalised with their close friend Geoff presiding over proceedings, in military uniform! Apparently it made him look more official! All their friends were very shocked and wondered what was going on, until quite few mins in when they realised it was meant to happen :)

BBQ’s and boogie.

Drinks flowed, burgers sizzled, the April temperature did pick up a little and a happy vibe flowed throughout the day. We snook off for a few shots down at Fletcher Moss Park, as these guys liked big open landscape shots, quite tricky in the bijou gardens of Didsbury House hotel!

This was our first visit as Didsbury House Hotel wedding photographers, one of many weddings this year in the Manchester eclectic hotels group. We’re back here in August too for more Didsbury fizz and congratulations :) – here’s how Lorraine & Chris’s Didsbury House Hotel wedding day looked in sunny August.
