Storrs Hall Wedding Photography – A late summer sunny Lake District wedding.

An early October wedding in the Lake District

We met Ellice & Jon, just the day before their Storrs Hall wedding photography as they lived on the Isle of Man so not so easy to meet up beforehand :) But what a perfect day it was we all enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the sun, with fingers crossed that this late summer sunshine would last until their wedding day……it did :) Well it made an appearance just in time, the early morning mist gave a very ethereal feel to the grounds, but the sun burnt through just in time for the registrars to agree for that dreamed of outdoor ceremony – yeah!

Time to say ‘I do’ & enjoy the sun

With all the important people in place sat around the sun drenched gazebo looking out over Lake Windermere, classical guitar tunes floating across the lawn, the stage was set for the perfect Storrs Hall Wedding :) Formalities out of the way and the knot officially tied it was time to relax and enjoy all the weather had to offer. Confetti, congratulations and general conviviality followed, before the guests were treated to a cruise around the lake, whilst Ellice and Jon had chosen to take this time to wander around the grounds of Storrs Hall, with two Pixies and a few cameras! A gentle stroll along the lakeside towards the iconic ‘temple’ where we crossed paths with the returning boat time for a few royal waves!

Everyone back on dry land, champagne flowing, huge balloons wafting, guests reclining in the sunshine on big blue deck chairs, another picture perfect wedding moment – just time to fit in a few family pics before everyone sat down for the wedding breakfast. Ellice and Jon had requested a few sunset shots if they were lucky enough to have sun and they were – so we sauntered back to the lakeside to catch the last moments of sun for the day. 

Jazz and a surprise first-dance routine

The evening soiree began with gentle jazz vibes from the live trio in the drawing room, followed by a secret choreographed waltz which Ellice and Jon had practiced in their friends kitchen. The Storrs Hall rotunda was the perfect setting to show off their new dancing skills ;)
