A winters wedding at Samlesbury Hall.
Samlesbury Hall Wedding photography
This was our first visit for Samlesbury Hall wedding photography so we were very happy that Elizabeth and Ian had got lucky with the weather with incessant rain both before and after their big day. Early in the morning we set off to Gardale House a perfect ‘getting ready’ cottage, in the middle of nowhere, somewhere in Yorkshire! With plenty of space the girls had a relaxed morning of hair, make-up, presents and cakes before donning their wedding attire. With prep all done we headed over dale and valley to Lancashire and the tudor splendour that is Samlesbury Hall. We’d not been to Samlesbury Hall before but it’s a great venue with lots of character packed in to it’s ancient walls and a ghost too, we didn’t see it though!
A cosy, winter feeling
The Hall had all it’s Christmas trees up along with the huge fires lit, very cosy and Christmassy, well it was December after all. Lizzie arrived in plenty of time, with her nephews proudly holding their signs to carry down the aisle, everything was set for a marriage to begin! With the weather being so dry and accommodating we managed to squeeze in some photees outside before heading back indoors to those roaring fires!
Boogie nights and black jack
The Great Hall held host to speeches which followed the wedding breakfast, with the best men double act taking centre stage, then it was relaxed coffee and cakes in the parlour – perfect :) Into the night everyone was in the very capable hands of DJ Adam Carr to set the wedding party in full swing, alongside a roulette and croupier to entertain everyone too :)
For a snippet of all our 2015 wedding photography have a nosey at our ‘best of so far…’ here :) – best with the volume turned up!!!
We’re back for more Samlesbury Hall wedding photography next autumn, can’t wait to capture the hall surrounded by all those autumnal colours….
