The Ashes wedding venue in Staffordshire has to be one of the most popular wedding venues in the UK, it certainly ticks all the boxes!

Since our e-shoot with Ruth and Gareth we’d been looking forward to their Ashes wedding as they were just great people to be around and good fun too :) Shame there was no Tilly the dog, although she did feature on the cake :)

A day packed with wedding emotions

Ruth and Gareth had been living in Oz for a few years and had just returned for their wedding and a life in Somerset, so this was the first time they’d seen lots of their friends for years, quite an emotional day! Couple that with the fact that Gareth notoriously cries at anything and there were bound to be tears! In the bridal cottage calm and chaos mixed, whilst the guests started to trickle in outside, lots of different accents flying around for this wedding with guests from all over the world.

Staffordshire sunshine, naked table plans and quirky aprons

Gareth just about got through his vows and these two had tied the knot – yeah! Real cider and Pimms flowed to accompany the canapes on the lawn, lots of congratulations and an impromptu choir rendition too! The most unusual, probably unique table plan/names too where the newly weds featured around the world ‘in the altogether’!!! Host-a-roast was the order of the day for the wedding breakfast with a fab selection of comedy aprons for each tables carver :) The fun continued into the evening with enthusiastic ceilidh dancing – it definitely lived up to our expectations of a chilled out fun wedding :)

The end to another great wedding at The Ashes, but never fear a looooong honeymoon was the next stop :)

I’m sure Ruth and Gareth were sad their Ashes wedding was over so soon, but not that sad as they now have five weeks in Canada! A great way to start their new life as Mr & Mrs :)

For more weddings at The Ashes take a sneaky peek at an energy/beer charged summers wedding and a more subdued late Autumn wedding both on the blog from 2015 weddings.
