All Angels & St.Michaels Church, Ashton-under-Lyne and The White Hart Lydgate Wedding, sunshine and showers.
A celebration of Rachel & Scott, after seven years together and a new house it was time to tie the knot :) When we met up with Rachel & Scott they were amid knocking walls down and replastering to create a great new home for themselves as Mr & Mrs. All was planned, a little hiccup with the church tower still being covered in scaffolding, but then Rachel’s sister and chief bridesmaid got very poorly suddenly just weeks before the wedding. No-one was going to let it spoil the day, and Rebecca summed up all her energy and did a fantastic job as chief bridesmaid for her sister – Good Luck from the Pixies on your recovery Rebecca :)
We’d never been to this church before despite it being on our doorstep, wow! From the outside it just looks like any other church, but inside it was almost cathedral like, absolutely gorgeous. The strange thing was though, as the pulpit is in the middle the pews face towards the centre so those sat at the front face the back of the church, so there was a fair bit of standing up or leaning on the back or is it front of the pews! There was a fair bit of waiting too as Rachel ended up half and hour late! (not Rachels’s fault though, a misunderstanding with cars).
All week the weather had been beautiful, but today the forecast was rain and lots of it… but luck was on Rachel and Scott’s side, as the clouds seemed to part whenever we needed to be outside :) At The White Hart the Oak Room was set out ready for the wedding breakfast, luckily we had just enough time to get those all important historic group shots. Whilst everyone was enjoying their food, there was great thunderstorm and downpour – Peter never got his wish for a bride and groom with lightening bolt though!
Speeches and toasting done, we went for a short wander down the country lanes nearby, to capture a few real moments of Rachel and Scott together, in the rustic countryside.
