Lulu (Walaa) & Khaled – A Manchester Egyptian Wedding celebration at The Midland Hotel, Manchester Wedding photography.
An Egyptian wedding, first for the Pixies… Now we want more Arabic weddings! Great fun and they just love having photographs too ;)
Lulu and Khaled had officially tied the knot at the Egyptian Embassy in London a few days earlier, but now it was time for the whole shebang with the make-up, dress and plenty of dancing! Bridal prep involved lots of make-up, which really suited Lulu’s Arabian looks, transforming her into the bride she’d always dreamed of being and making Christy, her best friend and bridesmaid cry too! Khaled arrived at their house looking cool as a cucumber, quite the James Bond character in his evening suit. A few shots around Lulu’s parents house, a bit of green to contrast with the cityscapes of Manchester later in the day and we’re off.
With no ceremony to speak of it was straight into the drinks reception and a few group shots. After the wedding Lulu and Khaled were off to Egypt to begin their life there, so these historic shots of friends and family were very important.
The Midland Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for fantastic, elegant, decadent and rich imagery of a very exotic looking bride and groom. A special request for a picture in The French Restaurant, then the spiral staircase and with the Central library newly opened we could again take advantage of those Romanesque pillars, we were really spoilt for choice.
The wedding breakfast took place in the Stanley Room, the perfect size for a smaller, more intimate wedding party. Some teary-eyed speeches, then the dancing commenced – earlier than the usual English weddings we’re used to, taking us quite by surprise! Then there was dancing, dancing and more dancing, they certainly knew how to have a good time :)
