Kirsty and Paul: Pott Shrigley Church and Shrigley Hall Wedding reception in the very understated yet classic William Turner Suite (no Jonny Depp to be seen tho!). Macclesfield & Cheshire Wedding Photography
We hoped the clouds would blow over in time, but even all our Pixie huffing and puffing wouldn’t blow the clouds away! This was to be a wet one, umbrellas at the ready! The cute church of Pott Shrigley certainly looked summery surrounded by all the lush green but not a place to linger as the rain didn’t stop until late in the evening. So it was very much a documentary shoot as Kirsty hurried from car to lych gate, to the porch of the church.
Fortunately we were in the main building of Shrigley Hall for the wedding reception and could make good use of the grand staircase, which easily fit all the guests for a big group shot :) which is very tricky in some venues! A few bride and groom portraits with out trusty umbrellas, told the story of the day, then back indoors to the dry :)
So it seemed to be a re-run of a wedding we’d shot at Shrigley Hall a few years ago, after the storm a gorgeous sky emerges with fantastic evening light! Kirsty and Paul had mentioned a shot with the Lake in too, so once I’d retrieved a golf buggy Paul was convinced, in fact he was snap-chatting all his guests whilst on the golf buggy. It made his wedding day, he said that not us! All that planning and glamour and it was the golf buggy that made him smile! (tbh I found it great fun to drive too!!!)
