A Wentbridge House Wedding, with Yorkshire sunshine greeting guests after their Leeds city centre church ceremony.
Pixies ‘kilt’ wedding weekend… chaps in skirts – hmm… Rachel and Jonathan’s wedding ceremony took place at St. Georges in Leeds city-centre followed by their reception at the amazing Wentbridge Country House Hotel.
With St. Georges being in the middle of Leeds Rachel and Jonathan hired a coach to ferry their guests to and from the church/reception, this was a brilliant idea as parking in a city is…. well, tricky. The church is set high up and has a dramatic gothic grandeur… not much green space though! This is where Wentbidge House comes in :)
Wentbridge House is a 17th century country house set within gorgeous gardens, natural grass and woodland with it’s very own ‘rustic’ out-building tucked secretly away (perfect for some fashion-type bridal portraits).
The staff at Wentbridge House are amazing, we arrived with a light drizzly rain to meet the drinks reception set up outside under a huge sheltering tree. The staff were sure the rain would stop so ‘why go inside’ on such a beautiful, English summer’s day :)
The rain did stop, followed by some fun family photos with canapes on the lawn (very timeless setting indeed). Following the wedding breakfast we captured some early evening bridal photos around the gardens, into the more rustic ‘countryside’ area and finished at the very earthy out-building (really hope they never renovate this). The evening finished off with an energetic, live Scottish ceilidh dance… Och aye the noo :)
