Chinese wedding photography at The Saddleworth Hotel
Theresa and Mike’s wedding day began early, even earlier for us Pixies travelling to Leeds for bride and groom prep followed by Chinese wedding door games. So we were on the road bright and early at 6:30am, at least there wasn’t too much traffic!
Door Games
Whilst the girls preened themselves for the day ahead the boys were getting ready just a few minutes down the road. With cravates tied and presents opened it was time for the off. Time to see what the girls had in store for the boys Chinese door games. At Theresa’s mum house the boys knocked and were greeted with a rain shower of luminous underwear – stage one of the games. Once fully dressed, perfect timing for strange looks from the postman and dustbin men! Stage two was shots of all sorts of sour, sweet and alcoholic concoctions :/ Finally the boys were let in after paying off the bridesmaids in order to meet Theresa.
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
A journey over the Pennines from a cloudy overcast day to a very breezy but sunny Saddleworth. So Theresa and Mike got their dream outdoor wedding ceremony under the gazebo and the green oasis that is The Saddleworth Hotels gardens. A walk down the aisle to a shower of confetti (better than luminous underwear!) and congratulations from all their family and friends.
All things red for a Chinese Tea Ceremony
After canapes, fizz and a smattering of photos then it was on to the next part of the wedding day, the Chinese Tea Ceremony – a tradition of real emotion accompanied by those ever present red envelopes ;) Tea drunk and gifts exchanged, time for Theresa to change back in to her gorgeous wedding dress. Lots of food, followed by lots of cheers/toasting, followed by a classic first dance interrupted by a not so classic friend in a dragon outfit! The party was definitely in full swing.
Congrats to Theresa & Mike on a fun filled jam packed wedding day to remember.
