A Yorkshire Wedding, sunny ceremony at St. John’s Church, Upperthong and Peach Bellinis at 315 :)
We were already quite familiar with Rachels family, as we’d shot here sisters’s wedding at The Saddleworth Hotel a couple off years ago. With four daughters in the family I guess mum and dad are quite happy that nearly all of them have tied the knot now! It was the weekend after the Tour d’France had passed through Holmfirth so the ‘tour’ bunting was still up in the garden and the view beyond of Holme Moss and the field art reminded us of a great weekend we’d had watching the tour and the great atmosphere of everyone!
Rachel wanted minimal fuss, quite a reportage documentary feel to this wedding, hence a lot of black and whites, they just seem to tell as story so well! One of the nicest moments was when Adam and Rachel went for a sneaky moment alone just after they’d left the church. That first moment of being married – pretty special and often missed in the hecticness of the day, good move Adam :)
After the ceremony we were off to 315 in Lepton, just outside Huddersfield – a stylish bar and restaurant, great for sunny days with it’s downstairs terrace off the main function room. We were itching to go “Pixie-style” as just across the road was the most gorgeous rolling, almost Tuscan looking (in a Yorkshire way) wheat field, but Rachel was having none of it! So we plumped for a quirky shot with the fire escape instead :)
