A Shrigley Hall Wedding, in the cool blue of a winter wonderland.

Penny & Steve live in London, but both are originally from Cheshire and came back home for a post Christmas ski-themed winter wedding at Shrigley Hall Hotel.

Bizarrely, whilst flicking through our sample albums on our first meeting they independently recognised the best man from one and the groom from another… small world!

Bollington church ceremony

The day began in Penny’s parents house, in the very bright and airy sunroom, making the most of the winter light – whilst the boys had their pre-wedding drinks and calmed nerves at The Cock & Pheasant, just a two minute walk from St. Oswald’s church in Bollington. We can hand on heart say this was the most vocal sing-y wedding party we’ve ever had – they were fantastic and sung even when it became optional, maybe it was all that Christmas cheer! Following their hearty ceremony we zoomed off to Shrigley Hall, racing to capture a few photos before the setting sun disappeared completely.

Once back inside with mulled wine, warm roasted nuts (!), candle lit entrance and winter trees definitely set the theme off. The ski/winter theme really suited the octagonal converted chapel of the Tilden suite, perfectly executed by the team at Precious Things.

Dancing, speeches, food, speeches, dancing, food……

Then for the entrance and speeches… this was to be a little different – with not much rest for the Pixies! Penny and Steve entered the room, then straight in to first dance, followed by a couple more dances – then it was father of the groom speech, then starters, then more speeches and dances, then mains, then more speeches and dances – including a dance off for the longest married couple – who were then given the bridal bouquet, a nice touch and a bit different to bouquet throwing :) It all worked really well, especially as all their guests were up for a dance or two or three!!!
