Dale Lodge Hotel outdoor summers day Lake District wedding, epic Langdale views and a fireshow!

We do love a Lake District Wedding and this time we were back to Dale Lodge Hotel in Grasmere, for their first ever outdoor ceremony…so fingers crossed for the weather! It couldn’t be any worse than last December when we were last at a Dale Lodge wedding, when the heavens opened and stayed that way!

Gilli & Liam were quite chilled-out about their day and were happy for the chaos to happen around them. The new gazebo had been installed at Dale Lodge with a belt and braces approach for the weather with a gorgeous marquee over the ceremony area, Matthew from Wesley House events team (a friend of the family) was making sure this ceremony was held outside whatever the weather!

With a late ceremony and the nights drawing in at this time of year, there was just time for canapés, a magician (all the way from Kent!) and a few quick portraits in the grounds of Dale Lodge – in the sunshine.

Gilli & Liam had earmarked a couple of close-by locations for some more environmental portraits, unfortunately Faeryland Tea Gardens was closed, so we couldn’t capture the whimsy at the lakeside. The second location was close to Langdale YHA and their amazing views, so we zoomed off up to the top of the hills! We just caught the light in time and as you can see, the views were just fantabulous, with the surroundings of the youth hostel providing some great rustic backdrops :) Perfect.

As if the day hadn’t been spectacular enough, a surprise evening finalé with a Flame-Oz fireshow!!! A truly epic Lake District wedding, outdoor ceremony, expansive views, rustic’ness, great bride and groom and a spectacular fire show – does it get any better?!
