A Manchester Town Hall Wedding, love that gothic grandeur, then on to a great rustic countryside venue at Hyde Bank Farm it was to be a wedding day of sharp contrasts.
Emma and Chris’s wedding was great fun from start to finish. Emma was up for all sorts of creative (and documentary) photography.
Emma preferred to spend her getting ready time with just her family and friends, so no Pixies allowed. So this Manchester Town Hall and Hyde Bank Farm wedding combo started at MTH (Manchester Town Hall), a building with more presence than the most ornate and imposing church we’ve ever come across in the UK – we love photographing weddings here :)
Pictures, pictures and more pictures, that was the brief!
During part one of their portrait sesh (yes, there were two distinct sessions Emma wanted) we were allowed into the central court yard of MTH. This is an area I’ve ALWAYS wanted to shoot in, it’s like a film set from Harry Potter, you feel completely immersed in the Victorian era as there’s little or nothing to say we’re in the 21st century, amazing space. We then headed over the the city-centre for some dark alleyway juxtaposition shots… Emma & Chris were totally amazing and up for all sorts :)
From a city centre wedding ceremony to countryside farm wedding reception.
Onward to Hyde Bank Farm where the bride and groom nearly beat the vintage bus carrying all the guests as it broke down enroute, which seemed to cheer everyone up! The farm is a little oasis, you’d never imagine how cute and gorgeous it is… A definite venue worth checking out should you wish to stay local to Manchester yet still with a countryside feel.
Pink wellies and big skies
Following some group shots with the bride and bridesmaids in their pink wellies we headed out for portrait sesh two, which meant countryside, big sky’s, some intimate couple shots and culminated in the last pyro shot of the year.
Congratulations Emma & Chris. It really was an amazing day :)
